    Fear of Speaking Help!
Leadership often involves public speaking, which is difficult for many.  ASWA offers a safe environment for you to develope your speaking skills.  At every meeting each person is given an opportunity to stand up and speak to the group with a brief introdruction. This has helped many of us become more comfortable with speaking to groups, or at business meetings, and often is a required job skill as professionals.

    More about the Leadership Opportunities:
Our Chapter structure promotes leadership development and leadership opportunities through active participation on our Board and Committees.  If you are interested in finding out more about this team and ways you can join, click on the link  Board and Committees.  We have a great group – who work hard and have a lot of fun.

There are five classes of membership, which are described here. If you are interested in becoming a member, please go to http://www.aswa.org/join

Our members represent many industries, including, agriculture, manufacturing, fishing, construction, public accounting, media, research and development, service, retail, transportation, government, education, and not-for-profit.   We are CPA's, business owners, Finance Executives, Accountants and more.  We are the home for all women in Accounting and Finance who live in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.

We welcome you to attend a meeting to learn more about us.  Dinner meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month except December.  For reservations, please contact Paula Shoemaker for reservations by 5pm Wednesday the week before the meeting at  Reservations@aswa115.org.

If you would like to talk to a member about it, or have any questions, please contact our Membership Chair, Diane Hack at dlhack1@comcast.net
